AI/ML in meteorology

Guide on applications of AI / ML for meteorology, atmosphere, climate & remote sensing

EUMETSAT uses the Chicago style in author-date format for citations (as documented in the English Language Style Guide).

The Chicago Manual of Style provides this best practice on how to cite AI generated content:

https://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/qanda/data/faq/topics/Documentation/faq0422.html

AI generated content does not need to be credited but it should be acknowledged.  For example:

The following code was generated by ChatGPT.

If a more formal citation is wanted, ChatGPT would stand in for the author and it would be shown with parenthesis.  For example:

(ChatGPT, 25 June 2024)

Also provide a publicly available link.  If you can't provide a publicly available link, do not create a citation.  Instead, acknowledge the AI tool in the text.
